The Ruins is another great book from T.W. Piperbrook. I pre-ordered this months ago and finished the book in one day. I absolutely love the story lines and the characters are well developed. You can read the series first then read this, or start with this and go to the series. Either way you will not be disappointed. I guarantee it!
I like the books. I bought the audible of it too. I like to listen to audibles on my 1 hour commute to and from work. I can't hardly stand to listen to the narrator. I don't want to be mean but he sounds like he has bad fitting dentures.
The Ruins is a hit! I loved the story of what might/could happen in a near extinction level event. Some characters are smart and band together, others, not so much! Great characters and world with plenty of room to build up both. Best thing to do, read the previous books then this one. You won't be disappointed with all of the action and adventure along the way. I'm waiting for the next installment already!
I started with the first book and followed all the way to the end. I have a great imagination and I feel like I live the story right along with the characters. The good things and the bad. This series is one of the best I have ever read. T.W.Piperbrook has an imagination beyond compare and everything is explained in such detail that you can see it in your mind. Sometimes books explain things that aren't interesting enough to hold my interest and I find myself skipping or sections to get to the good stuff. Not with Piperbrook, it's all good stuff!
Is this a YA book? Simple to the point of being plain, thin storyline and thin characters. Condense this to two chapters and be done with it.
He warns at the beginning of the book in a preface if you haven't read his "Last Survivors" series, you probably should do that first or you'll be lost...
So, I won't read ANY of his books, thank you. I truly loathe series books that are dependent on each other and make me feel they're just a money grab. You simply MUST read them all. That's not a selling point for me...nor does it pique my interest. It turns me off! I usually avoid even reading the blurbs for books labeled with book #? for that reason. Now and then I make the error of trying...and find I'm right to hold to my first thought to avoid them.
Glad this was free...I'll delete it from my cloud, not just my device. And so glad I found out the truth about this author's books before I got caught up in it by trying the first of them all and finding I have to read many to get "a story".
I loved the Last Survivors Series and just read the first one of this series and loved it.
I had grown fond of a number of characters from the other series and really enjoying the direction of the new series.
Just got to the end of the book, and left on a cliff hanger so of course have just download the second one in this series.
I am a fan of dystopian genre and enjoying these series.
